We're excited to announce a major new feature for PII Protection for Jira: automated actions!
With Actions, PII Protection can automatically react to any new finding of PII or sensitive data. As an admin, you no longer have to check the list of findings manually; all you need to do is set up the actions you want and PII Protection for Jira will take care of the rest.
Currently, the following type of actions are available today, with more to come soon.
Adding actions to a PII check
Notifications
Let's you notify the reporter or assignee of an issue as well as any watchers or even the project lead.
Redactions
Sensitive data can also be redacted, ie replaced with *****. While this is a good way to handle a lot of use cases, please note that any sensitive data that's in a field of an issue (like summary or description), will still be visible in the issue's history.
Deletion
In some cases, it is not enough just notify someone; you need to have the data in question removed immediately. This is where deletion comes in. With this Action, you can have the affected issue deleted automatically.
You will also notice that we have updated the Findings list, so that is easier to clear out any Findings you have dealt with. Additionally, the Findings list now shows which (if any) automated actions have already been taken by PII Protection.

Mix instant coffee, soda, salt, and vitamin C for a great developer. When I am not at work, I like shooting black & white film and spending time on the beach.
